We are seeking an experienced and proactive System Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing our IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and efficient. You will manage domain accounts, servers, system updates, and provide user support, while also automating repetitive tasks to streamline operations. Compensation is decided on an individual basis and is dependent upon previous experience and fit for the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, Maintain, and Enhance IT Infrastructure: Proactively oversee system performance, security, and reliability. Perform system updates, investigate server incidents, and complete regular server maintenance.
- Active Directory, Azure, and SharePoint Administration: Manage Active Directory accounts, group policies, and associated directory services to ensure seamless operations.
- IT Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to company IT policies, procedures, and industry best practices to ensure all systems are compliant and secure.
- Automation of Repetitive Tasks: Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to systems and processes.
- User Support and Troubleshooting: Provide expert technical support to users, diagnosing and resolving network, domain, and system-related issues promptly.
- Miscellaneous Tasks: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the IT department and company operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a System Administrator.
- Proficiency in Active Directory, Azure, SharePoint, and Group Policy Management.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and routing.
- Automation scripting skills with experience in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining Windows servers (2012 and later), including patch management and incident response.
- Experience in endpoint management using Microsoft Intune.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to document processes and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in security and network management.
- Availability to commute to the Cincinnati office 4 days a week.
- Flexibility to work weekends and after regular business hours as needed.
- Ability to lift, stoop, bend, walk, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds, and to work in tight spaces for maintaining IT servers and equipment.
- Willingness to be on call and respond to urgent system and support issues as part of an on-call rotation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technology.
