WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a member of the senior leadership team reporting directly to the President, the CIO is a vital contributor to the long-term growth strategy of the company. The CIO is responsible for working with business leaders to ensure the creation of value for the business, establishing the IT vision and strategy, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and appropriately managing risk. The CIO will oversee the IT team and external IT related partners, which are focused on initiatives designed to create value to the business as well as ensuring an appropriate operating model that consistently provides reliable core services for all stakeholders. Specifically, this role will entail:
Strategy and Leadership
- Join forces with the executive team to develop an IT strategy that supports the overall corporate strategy.
- Partner, and gain buy in, with the executive team to leverage technology solutions to develop IT processes and roadmaps that optimize business results.
- Develop a short-term and long-term operating and capital expenditure IT budget.
- Present business cases and proposals for capital projects, taking into consideration costs, value, and risk-potential of new IT projects.
- Participate in corporate acquisitions, leading evaluation and integration of IT systems, capabilities, and team members.
- Develop and support a local and remote IT team of 8 employees. Schedule, organize, and assign projects to team members. Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Interact and work with the Board of Advisors as appropriate.
- Increase the maturity of the IT function, moving towards a position in which it is seen as a key enabler of the business.
- Monitor and interpret technology and business trends, allowing the function to provide appropriate solutions for the business in a dynamic environment.
Business Application Support
- Build and maintain relationships with other technical leaders and business executives to develop a keen understanding of business needs; ensure the delivery of IT services to meet those needs.
- Analyze current ERPs/business applications used across the company and sites, recommend solutions for optimization of tools, lead projects for upgrades, implementations, consolidation of systems, etc.
- Look for ways to continually leverage the ERP system to support the needs of the business.
- Champion a move to a more automated and optimized environment across the business.
Infrastructure Support
- Ensure IT is providing daily operational support across the organization at all locations.
- Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures that build upon existing cyber security, business continuity, disaster recovery and compliance strategies to address new emerging needs or remediate threats.
- Ensure controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively.
- Manage and optimize support from third party vendors and MSPs. Oversee contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors and service providers.
IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science; master’s degree or MBA preferred
- 10 years of progressive experience in IT
- 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role of an IT department
- Solid understanding of the manufacturing and distribution industry
- Experience with multi-site IT support and management
- Knowledge of ERP systems –both off the shelf and custom developed
- Experience in leading an IT infrastructure function
- Experience with corporate mergers and acquisitions and IT integrations
- Ability to travel to other sites (mostly in the Midwest and Southeast ) as needed—25% travel estimated.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This role is based in Cincinnati own, OH and the Director of IT will be expected to be in the office daily. At this time remote / hybrid arrangements are not available.
