Education/Experience: Bachelor�s degree or 5 years of related experience.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of IT operations experience, focusing on security administration.
- Proven experience in GE PACS system administration.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and server logs related to PACS data.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, firewall configuration, VPN setup, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with security incident response and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to information security, such as HIPAA, GDPR, etc. � Proficiency in server administration (Windows and/or Linux), desktop support, and hardware setup.
- Experience in analyzing security threats and implementing appropriate countermeasures.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure components, including servers, networking devices, and cloud services.
- Experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment
Position Summary:
The PACs and IT Systems Analyst is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and its associated networks and connections. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of medical imaging systems and supporting the clinical and radiological teams.
In addition to PACS administration, the individual will provide IT support for desktop systems, servers, and network infrastructure, including assisting with firewall management. They will coordinate with external vendors to plan and implement system upgrades, manage equipment orders, and ensure timely replacement or installation of hardware at new and existing sites. The role also involves maintaining the security and integrity of data transmission and storage in compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.
The PACS Administrator and IT Systems Analyst play a key role in supporting the organization�s technology infrastructure by providing technical expertise, resolving system issues, and proactively ensuring the reliability and performance of critical healthcare systems. This position requires collaboration with clinical staff, providers, IT teams, and third-party vendors to maintain seamless imaging services and support ongoing operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the PACS system, ensuring continuous and efficient operation of imaging data workflows, PACS gateways, and DICOM connections.
- Manage desktop support and IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and other healthcare IT systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, assisting with firewall configurations, VPN setup, and network security.
- Collaborate with vendors for PACS upgrades, software patches, and equipment maintenance, coordinating system rollouts and managing service agreements.
- Order, install, and configure IT hardware for new sites or replacements as needed, and coordinate the recycling or decommissioning of outdated equipment.
- Provide technical support and training to clinical staff and providers, addressing system issues or user concerns.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations related to IT and PACS security and data protection.
- Assist in the planning and executing disaster recovery strategies related to PACS and IT infrastructure.
- Maintain and update documentation related to PACS configurations, IT systems, and network architecture.
- Coordinate data line installations, changes, and repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
