Roles & Responsibilities:
• Install COTS applications on Windows/Unix/Linux environments and appropriate fixes to keep the systems running.
• Provide 24x7 on call service to assist with system hardware and applications problems.
• Identifies problems and provides corrective solutions for application problems e.g., file contention, space over/under allocation, data set buffering, back-up run times).
• Assist with daily/weekly/monthly routine maintenance tasks for various applications.
• Assists with the planning, scheduling and implementation of new applications, application and server upgrade projects.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
• Help in improving/automating the processing of production application jobs and work streams.
• Support the Annual disaster recovery setup and testing exercise. Maintain and modify DR plans as appropriate.
Technical/Functional Skills -MUST HAVE SKILLS:
• 3-4 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of Windows, Unix/Linux platforms.
• Database knowledge (Oracle, SQL).
• Ability to query and extract data using SQL.
• Installation, support and maintenance of COTS Applications.
• Basic knowledge of ITIL framework is a plus
• System networking knowledge (i.e. IP and Firewall knowledge) is a plus
• Strong Problem Solving skills.
