Summary
Cloud Subject Matter experts, perform a variety of tasks daily. The primary support the SME will provide is for the program, providing professional expertise in the ordering/provisioning of customer’s cloud requests. The Cloud Service Request team communicates policies, standard operating procedures, answers to frequently asked questions and processes to stakeholders. While working with Architecture and Engineering teams to facilitate consistent socialization and implementation of polices, processes, and procedures across the enterprise
Essential Functions
- In furtherance of these responsibilities, the contractor performs tasks and assignments that typically include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
- Ensure that IT programs have access to cloud hosting infrastructure and implement solutions more efficiently and effectively Timely processing of cloud intake requests
- Coordinate with EA/other team members for; reporting
- Follow processes to manually provision orders for a sub-set of products
- Participates in project meetings and conferences as the technical expert on specification requirements and related planning and design issues as appropriate;
- Coordinates with members of the team and customer organization as appropriate on matters pertaining to specifications;
- Develops briefing materials; presentations, special reports, and special projects related to planning and design specifications.
- Ability to communicate with customers, by phone, email, PC applications
- Quick to learn and adapt to processes
- Ability to cultivate positive working relationships across tea
Competencies
- Strong communication skills, verbal/writing
- Familiarity with Cloud Technologies - OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Google
- Cloud architecture knowledge a plus
- Cloud provisioning knowledge
- Experience with software engineering
- Exceptional debugging, testing, and critical thinking & problem-solving skills
- Understanding of Kanban preferred
- Experience using SharePoint
Supervisory Responsibility
Will assist with overseeing the day-to-day operation of a federal contract with off-site staff in multiple locations.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

- Frequently moves standard office equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work indoor conditions 90% of the time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend hours required, as required by business need.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience Cloud support
Education
- B.A/B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
