Technica is seeking an
Atlassian JIRA SME responsible for the enterprise multi-tenant Atlassian JIRA and JIRA Service Management (formerly JIRA Service Desk) services operated within the FBI. He/she is responsible for design, planning, and operation & maintenance of a catalog of Atlassian products, including but not limited to the following JIRA, JIRA Service Management, Confluence, and Crowd. In scope for these responsibilities, the JIRA SME is responsible for native functionality of the products, plugin integrations, and overall interoperability of the service in our organizational structure. He/she designs, builds, and maintains complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes with a multi-tenancy focus. The JIRA SME integrates the front-end UI with custom internally developed API based microservices.
This role is also responsible for researching and recommending plugins and testing interoperability within our development environment. The SME will apply a solid understanding of Agile principles when recommending project management methodologies (scrum, kanban, waterfall, etc). In addition, he/she
- Collaborates with the project architect and stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints
- Plans and facilitates requirements gathering workshops to plan Jira workflows and configurations
- Interprets and translates business requirements into product configurations leveraging Atlassian best practices
- Configures and administers Jira Software, Jira Core and Jira Service Management plus related plugins
- Designs, implements, and maintains custom workflows, global settings, users and groups, screens, dashboards, fields, permission schemes, post functions, etc., to serve as templates for Agile teams and automation workflows
- Supports/assists project admins within projects
- Manages and updates software and licenses
- Administers application instances on a day-to-day basis by setting-up and supporting projects, roles, workflows, security, and plug-ins
- Optimizes and improves process workflows and identify where functionality can be improved to meet user requirements
- Maintains a healthy application environment by periodically reviewing and modifying configurations, permissions, workflows, dashboards, integrations, and logs
- Supports the front-end UI integrations to external systems by collaborating with internal developers
- Investigates, troubleshoots and fixes issues related to Atlassian tools suite, application servers, and database servers
- Maintains an associated Confluence public pages for the purposes of knowledge management, historical system documents, communication, and wikis
This is a hybrid opportunity, 50% on-site at Patriots Plaza II location in Washington, D.C. and 50% remote. The government has established policies for on-site vs remote work which varies across divisions and contracts. Staff are obligated to adhere to these and other FBI policies and react accordingly as policies change over time. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.
The annual base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $200,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Technica considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, location, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
- Active TS with SCI eligibility
- Masters and 10 years relevant experience or Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, computer information systems or another relevant field and 12 years of experience.
- Familiar with SAFe, Agile, and other JIRA methodologies and advise the customer to adhere to best practices to ensure quality of service, uptime, and security.
- Possess five (5) years of experience with Atlassian products and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Agile methodology.
- Atlassian Certified Professional - Jira Administrator (ACP-JA) required, Atlassian Certified Expert Preferred.
- SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) 4.0+ certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline preferred
