Primarily responsible for:
- Identification of user needs and goals, task and workflow modeling, ethnography and persona development as well as rapid iterative usability testing, and more formal, in-depth testing
- Conducting usability research both online and in the field and provide recommendations for improvement
- Serving as a member of a team that acts as a 'repository' of research-based usability knowledge
- Working with project business representatives and team members to test business requirements using heuristic/qualitative methods
- Determining user needs by conducting task-focused analyses
- Working with graphic designers to test proposed look & feel initiatives
- Conducting thorough problem analysis in regards to technical systems and application programs; documents findings and proposes problem resolution alternatives
- Capable of designing application solutions to user needs without supervision
- Staying abreast of new technology trends in order to incorporate relevant applications
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- ACTIVE or EXPIRED IRS MBI Clearance is Required.
- Minimum Five (5) years of experience in and knowledgeable of multiple information technology systems, and activities to improve or enhance internal processes.
- Strong analytical skills to examine systems and processes and extrapolate solutions after reviewing data that provide ways to improve or enhance internal processes.
- Technical proficiency in relevant languages and development tools. Through understanding of structured programming principals, system analysis techniques, system design, industry standard testing principles, system implementation. It is highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on improving usability, user experience, and driving user adoption and engagement.
- They are responsible for conducting user research, as well as potential system enhancements, analysis & synthesis, persona development, of user-centered design research and usability testing.
Summary of Key Skills for a Program Analyst:
- Knowledge of Agile Methodologies (SAFE, Scrum, Kanban)
- Understanding of Data Management (Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) & DevOps Tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS)
- Basic understanding of Section 508 Testing & WCAG standards
- High level knowledge of Cybersecurity Understanding (Netsparker, Nessus, etc.)
- Expert in Excel, PowerPoint for Reporting and Analysis
