The Systems Administrator at St. Mary�s Food Bank protects our critical systems and assets, builds solutions, implements new software and hardware, provides training, and assists in developing the overall IT strategy. The Systems Administrator will oversee the accessibility and functioning of IT systems, diagnose and resolve problems that affect system performance or accessibility to an IT service, and more. This individual will manage routine system enhancements, like changes based on shifting end-user and organizational needs, take on challenging assignments, lead initiatives, and be responsible for results. The ideal person will serve as a positive voice in an ever-changing environment and act as a proactive change agent, driving the company's continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
Essential Functions
� Install and configure software and hardware.
� Identify system problems, anticipate potential issues, and repair systems and software when necessary.
� Active Directory and M365/O365 knowledge.
� Act as an escalation point to other IT employees.
� Manage, monitor, and maintain the file servers, data storage environment, and system performance to identify issues and implement improvements that ensure optimal performance.
� Monitor network for possible network operational or security risks.
� Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues in a timely manner.
� Employ the latest security protocols.
� Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
� Monitor the local area network (LAN) for threats or errors.
� Provide high-level and service-oriented support to all of St. Mary�s staff.
� Strong knowledge of SaaS based applications.
� Ability to receive business requirements from other departments and translate those into IT requirements.
� In-depth understanding of Cybersecurity best practices.
� Manage additional tasks as assigned.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all internal/external customers of St. Mary�s Food Bank with an excellent service experience.
Scope and Complexity
May interact with all levels of leadership, employees, agency representatives, community neighbors, volunteers, external vendors, and clients.
Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
- Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
- May be required to lift; up to 30 pounds.
- Requires significant use of computer, phone, and general office equipment.
- Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects.
- Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
- May require off-site travel with possible out-of-state travel.
- Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor�s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Experience with application administration, databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
- Ability to create scripts in Powershell, PowerBI, etc. is a plus.
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
- Ability to solve problems in stressful situations while staying level-headed and positive.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to work independently.
- Professional communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft environment and the ability to access, manipulate, organize, and relay information in a meaningful way.
- Strong leadership skills and effective at managing in all directions, including staff and executive management.
- Ability to synthesize and articulate complex concepts.
- Strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Annual Salary is $83,000.
