Job Description:
As a Technology Strategist Consultant, you will work closely with clients to develop and implement IT strategies that align with their operational objectives. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients’ technology investments meet their needs while managing internal toolsets to control costs and capture appropriate revenue for tool-related services. In addition, you will support IT field staffing initiatives, helping to match clients with skilled technical talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Engage with clients, particularly from nonprofits, schools, local government, and small businesses, to understand their goals and technology challenges. Analyze their IT environments and provide strategic recommendations.
- IT Strategy Development: Develop IT plans that address the specific needs of our unique clientbase, with a focus on affordability, scalability, and compliance. Ensure the solutions are tailored to each sector’s operational constraints.
- Tool Management: Oversee the management of the company’s toolset, ensuring that the cost of tools is accurate and that the company captures appropriate revenue from tool usage. Regularly review tool costs and revenue metrics to ensure profitability.
- Projects: Lead technical IT implementations, ensuring alignment with client objectives, timelines, and budgets. This includes ensuring compliance with sector-specific regulations for nonprofits, education, and government clients.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineers, cybersecurity experts, and staffing coordinators, to provide both technical solutions and the right personnel to clients.
- IT Field Staffing Support: Assist in identifying the right IT staff for client projects and ensure that personnel have the necessary expertise, particularly in nonprofit and education environments.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to ensure the company is using the best-in-class tools and technologies, while also managing costs effectively for the client.
- Sector-Specific Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of how our clients operate, including their funding and regulatory requirements, to make sound IT recommendations.
- Business Development Support: Support the sales team by identifying opportunities in core client sectors, and help craft proposals that emphasize the company’s services.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with emerging IT trends and technologies, especially those relevant to nonprofits, education, and government sectors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT strategy, consulting, or related roles, ideally within nonprofit, education, or government sectors.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
- Experience managing IT toolsets, with a focus on cost control and revenue tracking.
- Familiarity with managed services and IT staffing solutions.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Azure, Google, VMware, and cybersecurity solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the staffing industry, specifically IT field staffing.
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or relevant technology-specific credentials.
- Knowledge of compliance and funding cycles relevant to nonprofits, schools, and local governments.
- Strong analytical skills, particularly in managing costs and revenue related to tool management.
- Advanced knowledge of Kaseya’s toolset, including Professional Services Automation (PSA).

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to sit or stand at a designated workstation throughout working hours.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and may include remote/telework. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. The work environment is primarily indoors but may require travel.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. The ability to travel to client locations is essential to performing this job.
