About The Team
Worldpay powers 2.2 trillion payments annually across 146 countries in over 135 separate currencies with over a million-merchants supported globally. Worldpay is the largest acquirer by volume globally, we provide a reliable, secure, and scalable payments platform 24x7 365 day a year.
Being part of the 200 strong Infrastructure Services organization, you’ll help to engineer and deliver the core infrastructure services that power our payments platform. We’re responsible for running some very critical systems, maintaining 20,000 servers via an automation platform, thousands of databases and petabytes of storage hosted from our data centers and public cloud.
We are looking for talented individuals to join the Infrastructure Services organization; you’ll be a self-starter, possess an analytical mindset and be a change agent.
The Infrastructure Cloud Engineering team would be responsible for designing, engineering, and building a mix of on-prem, private-hybrid or multi-cloud IaaS IT systems.
Aims to provide the Infrastructure Services & Technology organization with a standardized, efficient, and scalable platform, tools, and services for development and deployment.
What You’ll Own
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager to lead our Cloud Infrastructure engineering teams focusing on Public & Private Cloud within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse team of cloud engineers and architects, ensuring the efficient, secure, and reliable operation of our private cloud infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in AWS, Azure, OpenShift, and Kubernetes, and involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud services tailored to meet our business’s complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead and manage the private cloud team, providing strategic direction and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee the architecture, deployment, and operation of private cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, OpenShift, and Kubernetes to ensure scalability, security, and high availability.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with internal teams (security, application development, operations) and external partners to align cloud strategies with organizational goals.
- Innovation & Optimization: Identify, recommend, and implement innovative cloud-based solutions to improve business processes, reduce costs, and increase system reliability.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure that cloud solutions comply with industry standards, data privacy regulations, and company security policies.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and monitor system performance, reliability, and scalability. Utilize data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Cost Management: Optimize cloud resource utilization to ensure cost-effective operations and budgeting for cloud services.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, building skills in cloud management, automation, and security best practices.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience managing private/public cloud solutions, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within the financial services industry.
- Cloud Platforms: Expertise in AWS and Azure cloud services, including EC2, S3, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Resource Manager, etc.
- Containerization: Advanced experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift, including setup, management, and orchestration of containerized workloads.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Networking and Security: Strong knowledge of cloud network configurations, firewalls, VPNs, encryption, and security best practices.
- DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps principles, tools, and processes for cloud operations.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects, budgets, and timelines effectively.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in complex cloud environments.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in managing cloud environments in a financial services context and familiarity with associated regulatory requirements.

The pay range for this full-time position is $145,900.00 - $245,120.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
