The serves as primary technical support for site operations and primary site liaison with Customer Automation Support Teams, Information Technology Teams, Implementation Teams, and/or LMS teams. Performs system maintenance necessary to update operating procedures of site systems. Functions as internal consultant regarding system functionality required by operations. Provides system configuration and training. Designs, develops, and implements data gathering and reporting to support site operations. Evaluates processes to establish the effectiveness. Defines problem areas within the operations and develops combative solutions. May serve as operational management backup as needed. |
Position Responsibilities |
- Serves as primary technical support for site database operations, such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), Labor Management Systems (LMS), etc. Ensures operational system integrity, including setup and control processes.
- Serves as primary IT support for level one and level two issues. Coordinates with Information Technology and operations on level three issues to resolve. Ensures issues are being identified, addressed, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Serves as functional user to define site requirements for layout and design of site databases. Assists with identification of potential automation enhancements needed to provide additional efficiency gains.
- Supports implementations by participating in customer integrated testing and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Trains operations on use of warehouse management system (WMS) and serves as site expert on WMS logic and functionality.
- Maintains, enhances, and expands knowledge to facilitate site systems proficiency.
- Interfaces with Operations staff to review operating procedures and maximize system efficiencies.
- Provides regular communication to Operations and internal departments regarding operational issues, customer requirements, account specific issues, etc. Includes analysis, insight, and recommendations.
- Identifies areas for improvement (service levels achievement, costs reduction, and accuracy).
- Develops standardized and ad hoc reporting.
- Based on business need may serve as operational management backup as needed.
- Performs observations to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Interfaces with customers to identify and resolve systems issues as well as part of improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements - Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Logistics, or relevant business experience. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, transportation, logistics, or relevant business experience.
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Experience Required.
- Minimum five years of related working knowledge in Distribution Operations
- Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and project management skills.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and balance long- and short-term needs
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions, operational needs, and customer requirements.
- Travel required up to 25% domestic based on business / customer requirements
