Job Summary: As the Lead IT Technician at our small company, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all IT operations. Working closely with a small team of two IT technicians, your role will involve hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and ensuring that our IT infrastructure runs smoothly. You will also lead efforts to maintain the security and efficiency of our network and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and work closely with two IT technicians.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow within the IT team.
- Provide hands-on guidance and support to enhance team members’ technical skills.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Lead the team in providing technical support to employees, addressing hardware, software, and network issues.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex IT issues.
- Ensure timely response and resolution of IT support tickets.
Network and Systems Management:
- Oversee the management, maintenance, and security of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations.
- Implement updates, patches, and backups to ensure system reliability and security.
- Monitor system performance and optimize configurations for peak efficiency.
Project Coordination:
- Lead small-scale IT projects, such as system upgrades, software deployments, or network expansions.
- Coordinate with other departments to align IT initiatives with business goals.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of IT activities, including support tickets, system configurations, and changes.
- Prepare and submit reports on IT operations, including performance metrics and incident analyses.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies to protect company data and systems.
- Conduct regular security audits and address vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an IT technician or in a related role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with network administration, system management, and IT support.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus.
Working Conditions:
