World Wide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) has an opportunity available for a Data Center Network Engineer to support our client with their network infrastructure support.
Title: Data Center Network Engineer
Contract Designation: Hybrid 3 days a week on site in Plano, TX; Columbus, OH; or Jersey City, NJ
6 Months with high possibility of Extensions
Position Overview:
Design, document, implement, and maintain network infrastructure - Enterprise Data Center Networking
- Design, document, implement, and maintain Cisco Network Data Center infrastructure portfolio
- Design, document, implement, and maintain Arista Network Data Center infrastructure portfolio
- Apply technical expertise in routing and switching (Cisco IOS and Nexus)
- Apply technical expertise in Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) software-defined networking (SDN) architecture
- Apply technical expertise in Leaf/Spine Data Center architecture
- Apply technical expertise in Top of Rack, Network Border
- Work with other platform owners to architect and implement changes to meet business needs, resolve issues, modernize the organization and its technologies
- Execute solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems
- Perform assessments, testing and validation of network environments to ensure functionality and performance meet requirements, including troubleshooting complex issues and implementing improvements
- Consider upstream/downstream data, applications, systems or technical implications and advise on actions to minimize impacts
Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, and changes to support operational efficiency and knowledge sharing – HLD (High-Level Design & LLD (Low-Level Design)
Coordinate with vendors and other related organizations for problem resolution
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards in designs, configurations, and implementations
Qualifications
- Formal Training, Certifications, or demonstrated work experience (7+ years) with Data Center network infrastructure and technologies
- Experience is Data Center Networking technologies and protocols such as: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, GRE Tunnels, Flow Control, ICMP, IGMP, LLDP, NAT, PIM, QoS, VARP/VRRP, EVPN/VxLAN, SDN
- Proficiency in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting the above network infrastructures, technologies, protocols
- Working Knowledge of network technologies such as firewall, proxy, and load balancer
- Working Knowledge of network services and tools such as Radius, DNS, NTP, SYSLOG, SSH, etc.
- IP Address Subnetting and Management
- Microsoft Visio to update network topology diagram(s)
- Experience coordinating telco/carrier technologies (circuits, carrier POP, building entry, working with carrier vendors)
- Familiarity of cloud and cloud technologies
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred qualifications
- Certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in automation and programming IE Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
- Experience with Agile methodology and delivery of infrastructure services
- Experience in large enterprise environment(s)
