What would you do?
We are seeking a skilled Storage Administrator with a strong background in 24x7 Production Support to join our team. This is a 5 days Onsite role requiring an on-site presence in Plano, TX. Who can provide supports based upon Roaster in Rotational shifts (Shift 1 (8 AM – 5 PM), Shift 2 (4 PM – 1 AM), Shift 3 (12 AM – 9 AM)) and also on weekend.
Position - Storage Administrator
Location - Plano, TX (5 Days Onsite 24x7 Rotational Shift)
Responsibilities:
· Monitor performance, errors, and warnings on FC network and attached storage systems
· Maintain storage and FC network policies and standards
· Troubleshoot performance problems and propose short term fixes and long term solutions
· Refresh data from one environment to another at the request of the application development staff
· Follow ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices for Change Management.
Essential Skills:
· Minimum 7-10 years of experience in TSM Backup
· Deploy and configure commserve, Media agent and client.
· Perform commserve DB maintenance and disaster recovery operations when needed.
· Deploy and configure administer Data protection for file systems and enterprise applications.
· Perform media management activities (end to end) Disk library, EMC data domain , Hyperscale nodes and appliances.
· Perform commvault user administration as per policies.
· Good knowledge on windows 2003/2008/2012 servers.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience in managing infrastructure backup and restoration.
· Experience with commvault installation, configuration and administration
· Good knowledge with VMWare and and other hypervisor hosts backup and storage migration plans.
· Analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues and will have to support in 24/7 shift when required.
· Supporting and troubleshooting backup, recovery, archiving in a large , complex and widely distributed environment, monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs and initiate correction action.
· Provide backup status and progress reports for backup environment related to commvault backup solution .
· Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of backup solutions and provide technical expertise to resolve issues
· Hands-on experience in current enterprise level Dell compellent, HPE 3PAR, IBM Storsimple (hybrid storage) storage design, networking, configuration, capacity management, troubleshooting and maintenance of highly available enterprise data storage systems
· Solid understanding of various methods to back-up virtual machines as well as DR strategies utilizing vMotion, HA, SAN snapshots, LUN replication, etc.
· Understanding of Dell compellent, HPE 3PAR, IBM Storsimple ( hybrid storage) technology will be an added advantage and how vSphere is implemented with shared storage (eg. fiber channel, iSCSI, NFS or CIFS. RDM vs VMFS) strategies for performance and optimization across logical and physical network topologies
· VMware Infrastructure design and planning involving large scale clusters
