Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student - Software Engineer for Deere & Company JDTIC located in Champaign, IL, you will...
- Participate in the design, development, and deployment of digital software products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Engage in Agile team activities: stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives

What Skills You Need
- Pursuing a degree in any of the following (undergraduate or graduate):
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Data Science
- Graduation date of spring of 2025 or after
- 1 or more years of experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, JavaScript, Java
- 1 or more years of experience working with REST APIs
- 1 or more years of experience working with databases, SQL
- 1 or more years of experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Strong communication, high creativity, and excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent ability to learn and work on a team
- GPA equal or higher than 2.8
- Able to work (16-20 hours/week) during the academic year
- Able to work (30-40 hours/week) during the summer semester
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with React.JS, Next.js
- Experience and passion for working with generative AI tools
- Experience with cloud hosting (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Experience with containerization and DevOps practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
- Basic understanding of Agile software development methodologies
- Ability to read, understand, and explain documentation and research papers
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and practices
- Understanding of software security principles
