Description
Network Engineer II Job Summary A network engineer is responsible for designing, building, and integrating computer networks. Their tasks include developing and installing network infrastructure (such as configuring routers and switches), implementing data security systems (deploying firewalls, antivirus software, and data backups), performing routine network maintenance (troubleshooting issues, installing upgrades, and applying service packs), and providing customer and technical support. As technology evolves, Network Engineers must stay abreast of the latest developments to maintain robust and secure network environments. Description Provide daily support to customers by executing routine requests typically received through the Help Desk, while continuing to maintain service levels and availability of target IT resources. Responsible for managing all issues/problems related to network systems.
- Responsible for the actualization, implementation and deployment of network systems design. Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to the implementation of network systems design. Develop and communicate standard operating procedures and network documentation.
- Participate in various IT and corporate project/initiatives related to network systems administration.
- Gather requirements from business partner to design a solution that meets the business need. This may require changing/modifying an existing system or purchasing something new that would meet the business need. Executing business continuity and recovery plans for the organization.
- Provide subject matter expertise to address business needs related to network systems. Interpret customer’s business requirements based on feedback, analysis, probing and interviewing. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A strong understanding and experience with networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS,DHCP, BGP, OSPF and VLANS) and network technologies. Proficiency in network hardware and software configuration. Proficient using network analysis and troubleshooting tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team setting. Time management and organizational skills. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies. Preferred Experience: Experience working in a large complex corporate environment Experienced in recognizing and mitigating network security threats. Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture and their operating systems in addition to network management systems. Education, Experience and Certification Required High School Preferred Associate Degree Years of Experience Required - 5 years - work experience in a network infrastructure/network environment and distributed/telephony systems environment. License/Certification Preferred Certification Cisco CCNA Preferred Certification Cisco CCDA

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00
