Purpose of position
A Consultant is responsible for the delivery of high-quality consulting services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, Government, and R&D sector both in Australia and internationally. This includes the generation of consulting revenue for Biointelect and being involved in all aspects of the consulting process for clients of Biointelect.
Key responsibilities & duties
1. Manage client projects, with support and oversight by a Manager / Director
- Provide high quality strategy consulting services to clients including but not limited to commercialisation consulting services, public sector consulting and project management services.
- Manage projects to deliver within budget, on time and in compliance with company policies and procedures and client’s expectations and objectives.
- Engage with clients and conduct analysis to deeply understand the client’s true problem, considering both their current and future needs, and work with other Biointelect team members to design or recommend solutions.
2. Work with Biointelect teams to deliver projects
- Prepare fully referenced and concise written summaries in line with client objectives.
- Produce quality deliverables such as slide decks, data analysis and white papers, as required; for example a critical analysis of the opportunities for a pharmaceutical product in a market
- Conduct desktop research, expert interviews and provide critical analysis for client strategies regarding areas such as disease epidemiology, health economics, clinical practice, market access, regulatory and reimbursement environments, researcher and provider landscapes, competitor profiles and pipelines.
3. Work with Biointelect teams to support business development
- Engage in meetings with potential new clients to discuss leads and opportunities, with support from Manager/Director
- Support repeat business from previous/existing clients by identifying new project opportunities.
- Support the development of proposals for new projects and follow-up activities with existing and potential new clients.
- Contribute to the development of Biointelect strategy and marketing materials.
- Work with Biointelect teams to support business development.
4. General:

Experience and qualifications
- Tertiary Degree in Medical/Science, Public Health or Health Economics – Masters level or above preferred;
- Business/Project Management qualification or training – for leadership of Project Management roles
- Understanding of biopharmaceutical/medical devices development life cycle, Australian and international regulatory environment (e.g. FDA and EMA) and public sector policy and processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commercially aware and a strategic thinker with ability to provide critical insights and analysis.
- Customer focused with a strong desire to provide excellent service and focused on achieving positive outcomes for clients.
- Organised and reliable

- Able to work (after training) with minimal supervision.

Desirable but not essential
- At least 3 years’ experience in project management and stakeholder engagement and thorough understanding of project management principles
- Some experience with quality management systems in biotech or pharma environment and its impact on the product development cycle
- External relationships with clients, KOLs, service providers and industry associations
- Accuracy and quality of information provided, timeliness, professional presentation of information for the client
Context of the job / Major challenges
Dealing with a variety of stakeholders of varying seniority up to Board Level, including understanding and managing client expectations.
