We are working with an Ohio client to identify a Windows System Administrator. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and systems in a virtual and physical environment.
- Monitor and manage system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance while minimizing downtime.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory.
- Provide support for issues related to Windows systems, applications, and network connectivity.
- Configure and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT infrastructure projects and initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing Windows server environments.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and experience troubleshooting network issues.
- Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Knowledge of IT security practices, including antivirus, firewalls, and patch management.
