The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requires the assistance of a contract resource to serve as an Infrastructure Architecture Lead for the North Carolina NCFAST Program to support development and implementation of North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) projects.
The primary role is to manage the programs’ infrastructure and application environments which include production, testing and development. This position must demonstrate a thorough understanding of project management principles to plan and coordinate large and complex technical changes and implementations in this large system development project. This position must also be responsible to develop requirements and evaluate competing technical solutions objectively, and manage system events and outages effectively through resolution. This position is required to be on call for evening and weekends as required to meet business needs.
Required
• Understanding and use of AIX architectures and hardware
• Experience with networking and firewall concepts and operations
• Experience with SAN technology
• Experience with SOA and integration architectures utilizing Enterprise Service Bus frameworks
• Experience with Oracle specific database architectures
• Experience with high availability concepts and implementations (hardware and software based)
• Experience with application performance monitoring tools and concepts, and application performance management practices
• Experience with OS and software maintenance including upgrade planning and implementation
• Understanding and experience with the State of NC DIT hosting model
• Strong written and verbal analytical and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to create and tailor messages based on the audience – including senior executives or technicians
Highly desired
• Experience with IBM Power7 or Power8 hardware platforms
• Experience with AIX
• PMP certification
• Experience customizing the Curam Framework to meet project functional and business requirements.
