DescriptionPartners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.
Engages with strategic customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, and at conferences, and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Leading contributor, may provide direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May interact with C level. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
Minimum qualifications include: 8 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic.
Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 8 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 8 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.

ResponsibilitiesThe Enterprise Principal Cloud Architect will be working closely – depending on each case - with Oracle Sales to develop new business as well as to position Oracle’s Solutions at the heart of the largest transformations, including focus on solutions based on Oracle Public Cloud Services.
Oracle Enterprise Cloud Architects bridge the gap between business and technology –speaking the value language of business and technology with C‐level individuals. They combine a deep understanding of technology, applications, industry best practices, business processes and architectural patterns to drive IT transformation initiatives that meet the business objectives of our customers.
Ideal Candidates will be senior level professionals who not only possess deep experience with technology transformation but also significant experience in cloud.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute with a cloud first mind set helping customers realize benefits of an Oracle cloud based architecture
- Contribute to and drive large Oracle X-LOB deals including Oracle IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud services
- Work in collaboration with local account team (X-stack –infrastructure, technology and applications), Global Client Advisors, and Key Account Directors
- Lead all consultative selling enabling services including domain architects, sales consulting, Business Analyst, etc.
- Exercise creativity, independent judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to design non-routine and very complex business solutions utilizing Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs
- Interact with all roles at customer – including CIO, CTO, IT Architects, technical staff and Business representatives
- Articulate case for change
- Lead detailed discovery analysis
- Conduct repeatable strategy, architecture, roadmap and planning workshops
- Provide assessment of current state architecture and recommendation of future state architecture
- Provide detailed sizing and associated justification
- Identify and evangelize key business and technology benefits of adoption
- Provide roadmap and migration methodology and identify quick wins
- Advise on organizational impact of solutions
- Remain fully aware of relevant architectural programs and assets from Oracle worldwide
Skills required:
- Wide background including architecture, implementation and delivery of large‐scale hardware and software systems in real-world situations
- Cloud Architecture Development
- Cloud certification (Oracle, AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
- Hands on skills with CI/CD & build automation tooling (Chef, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Strong hands-on Linux and/or KVM experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of traditional monolithic and cloud-native application frameworks
- Ability to walk up the cloud stack (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) model with modern terminology and relevance
- Architecture or other appropriate certifications like CISSP, TOGAF, Zachman, OpenCA, ITIL, Cobit, Prince is preferred
- A strong understanding and practical experience in planning and delivering cloud migration projects from traditional on-premise deployment models
- Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance frameworks and applying new techniques to meet security and governance in public cloud architectures
- Knowledge of wide-area and datacenter networking design, protocols, and implementation preferred
- Wide knowledge of IT market and trends
- Knowledge of full Oracle stack including Oracle Public Cloud Services
- Knowledge of cloud competitors including AWS and/or Azure
- Some specific knowledge of Oracle and competitor hardware solutions
- Some specific knowledge of Oracle database and middleware technology
- Some specific knowledge of Oracle applications
- Some specific knowledge of Oracle industry solutions
- Detailed knowledge of architectural approaches including consolidation, cloud computing, virtualization, disaster recovery, information management, big data, Java applications, Oracle and non-Oracle applications
- Significant C-level presentation expertise
- Open to travel as required
