We are seeking a Head of Asset Management for IT.
The Head of IT Asset Management is responsible for leading and executing the organization’s IT asset management strategy, ensuring effective management of IT assets throughout their lifecycle. This role involves strategic planning, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of hardware and software assets. The ideal candidate will develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance, optimize costs, and enhance asset utilization. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage licensing while maintaining accurate inventory records. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of IT asset management frameworks and best practices. Additionally, the Head of IT Asset Management will lead a team responsible for tracking asset inventory, conducting audits, and implementing best practices to minimize costs and risks, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and supporting business objectives.
Responsibilities Include
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT asset management strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, including deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Optimize the utilization and disposal strategies of IT assets to manage costs effectively.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT assets, including security vulnerabilities and compliance issues.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure the best value and service levels.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT asset management professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on the status and performance of IT assets.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to IT asset management.
Requirements Include
- 7+ years of experience in IT asset management or related fields
- At least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience in managing contractors to ensure compliance with organizational goals and performance standards.
- Proven ability to oversee managed service providers, maintaining effective communication and accountability for service delivery.
- Strong knowledge of IT asset management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, SAM)
- Experience with asset management tools and software
- Proven track record in developing and implementing asset management strategies
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to IT assets
- Experience in managing cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and optimize asset utilization and costs
- Leadership experience in mentoring and developing teams
