Job Title :: Junior IP Network Architect

JOB DESCRIPTION ::
- Perform IP network device upgrades, review existing design and implement required changes Review current design and build new configuration with upgrade requirement
- Assemble, configure, install, and dispose of Cisco routers and switches following existing configuration standards and procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting when necessary to remediate issues in a timely manner.
- Utilize a work management system for task coordination, scheduling, and obtaining installation approvals.
- Schedule outages with business owners as required.
- Manage tasks, provide periodic status updates, and progress reports as necessary.
Experience Required
Network Design and Management: Expertise in networkdesign, management, detailed documentation, testing, problem analysis, andformulating scope and objectives for system changes.
Technical Knowledge AndHands-On Experience
- Cisco ASR/ISR routers (EIGRP, HSRP, OSPF, etc.) and Cisco Catalyst switches
- Cisco Layer 2 protocols and configurations
- Network security best practices
- Determining network requirements, developing designs, selecting equipment, and creating Bills of Materials
- Datacenter experience
- Addressing Layer 2 and physical layer issues in both copper and fiber infrastructures.
Others
40-hour per weekposition:
While most work may be scheduled during normal workhours, equipment upgrades and replacements may also occur after-hours and overthe weekend. The daily work schedule may vary based on job location access, andtherefore, daily work hours will depend upon outage windows scheduled with thebusiness users. Weekend work is not common but can occur at some 24x7locations.
Travel Requirements
Travel within the five boroughs of NYC, Westchesterand Orange and Rockland, transporting equipment and tools to complete work.
Only travel between Con Edison job sites will bereimbursable.
Job locations will vary and include substations,workout locations, and office buildings with various access requirements.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Required to provide and wear PPE, including a hardhat(no white hardhat), safety boots/shoes, eye/ear protection, and any other PPErequired by the location.
