LightFeather is currently seeking a Microsoft Azure Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead, design, and implement Azure solutions for our clients. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, infrastructure architecture, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in cloud technology, a passion for solving complex challenges, and the ability to provide strategic guidance on Azure solutions.
This is a full time, hybrid position requiring candidates to be local to the DC Metro area.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage Azure cloud environments, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise on Azure cloud architecture, including security, scalability, and high availability.
- Manage team members, project scopes, and timelines, ensuring successful delivery and measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop strategies, and deliver tailored Azure solutions.
- Ensure solutions are optimized for performance, cost, and manageability.
- Develop and maintain documentation, technical guides, and best practices for cloud architecture.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits of existing Azure deployments to ensure they meet organizational standards.
- Lead training and knowledge-sharing sessions on Azure technologies to upskill team members and stakeholders.
- Establish best practices, standards, and methodologies within the team.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance at the Public Trust level or above. Active or prior clearance is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure, including architecture, configuration, and management.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services, including but not limited to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
- Proficient with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, security protocols, and best practices within cloud environments.
- Relevant Azure certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with additional cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of automation tools, scripting languages, and monitoring solutions.
