Technica is seeking a
Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for both the operations and maintenance of the Atlassian Developer Tools in support of our developer customers, and also the design, development, testing, and maintenance of a catalog of internally developed API based microservices (which exist in scope to enable customer self-service, overall automation, and provide business process and workflows within the Atlassian suite of products).
The individual is responsible for native functionality of the products, plugin integrations, and overall interoperability of the service in our organizational structure as it supports our customers in utilizing but not limited to the following Bamboo, Bitbucket, Crucible, & Fisheye.
The
Site Reliability Engineer conducts technical project milestone reviews, codes architecture sessions, provides resource estimation, and utilizes development best practices. He/she will work with internal team members (i.e. developers, system and application administrators) and external technical personnel and advise the customer to adhere to best practices to ensure quality of service, uptime, and security.
- In addition, she/he is responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of custom API based microservices for the Atlassian products
- Recommends and utilizes the appropriate programming language for each component or workload based upon performance requirements, supportability, integration with existing components, maintainability, and other selection criteria deemed applicable.
- Analyzes business functions or processes to understand the needs for which applications are being designed
- Develops all components and services using industry best practices such as test driven development, centralized source code management, code reviews, and automated testing
- Utilizes continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows to the maximum extent possible for all published components
- Produce DevOps best practice templates and guides to serve as examples to other development teams interested in transitioning to DevOps development workflows
- Provides assistance with the creation and maintenance of trusted computing components, such as operating system images, application templates, platform as a service infrastructure, etc.
- Fully documents development efforts using a combination of code comments, project issue tracking, change requests, and other formal documentation
- Ensures that software deployments minimally impact production workloads running in production environments
This is a hybrid opportunity, 50% on-site at Patriots Plaza II location in Washington, D.C. and 50% remote. The government has established policies for on-site vs remote work which varies across divisions and contracts. Staff are obligated to adhere to these and other FBI policies and react accordingly as policies change over time. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.
The annual base salary range for this position is $126,000 - $170,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Technica considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, location, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
- Active TS with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the design and development of complex server based, client/server, API oriented, micro-service, and/or n-tiered applications
- Strong Linux experience/Linux administration
- Network Infrastructure/Configuration
- Jira and/or Confluence Administration
- Understands agile software design and able to create/consume stories within a sprint/release structures
- Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming
- Advanced knowledge and implementation experience with the Atlassian Suite
- Experience in Full Stack Java Development environments
- Experience deploying services in Kubernetes environments
- Experience serving as the engineer of complex technology implementations in a web service centric environment
