Job Purpose
The IT Specialist supports DPW's IT infrastructure by setting up, configuring, and maintaining desktop computers, servers, and network equipment. This role includes managing system updates, installing and configuring software, monitoring system performance, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity protocols. The IT Specialist also provides technical support and resolves issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity. 0700-1600, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Installing new software and hardware components.
- Regularly evaluating our IT systems to ensure they meet the necessary demands.
- Assisting with network administration tasks.
- Ensuring data storage is safe and secure.
- Maintains database by entering data
- Resolving all issues coworkers have with their IT systems and software.
- Educating coworkers about network security and best practices for computer usage.
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of our computer network.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Establishes and revises database by conferring with analysts and programmers to code and retrieve data.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Carry out special tasks at Management's direction.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Experience in desktop support, server administration, and network management.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity protocols and IT best practices.
- Knowledge of basic troubleshooting techniques for hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with telephone, office, and point-of-sale software a plus.
