Job Title: Mobile Device Support Specialist
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA
Salary: $30 - $50/Hr.
SUMMARY
The Mobile Device Support Specialist will provide comprehensive support for mobile devices, including Windows tablets, notebook computers, and smartphones. The role involves managing, configuring, and troubleshooting mobile devices connected to cellular internet services and coordinating with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for smartphone services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support for mobile devices, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Manage and configure smartphones connected to the DISA enterprise email service.
- Coordinate smartphone services with DISA and manage cellular Wi-Fi devices and feature phones.
- Ensure all mobile devices are compliant with cybersecurity protocols and Army regulations.
- Respond to user requests for mobile device support, logging issues into a ticket system, and tracking resolution status.
- Assist with configuring mobile devices for secure access and manage device encryption.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of mobile device management and support, particularly for Windows-based tablets and smartphones.
- Familiarity with DISA enterprise services and Army IT security protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for effective user support.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- A degree is preferred; however, 5 or more years of combined experience in IT support, mobile device management, and relevant certifications—along with familiarity with DoD cybersecurity protocols—may substitute for a formal degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in mobile device support or a similar role.
- Experience with DISA and Army IT environments is preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits for mobile device setup and troubleshooting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift and carry mobile devices and related equipment.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Standard work hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Regular commute to primary work location is not considered travel. Occasional travel may be required to alternate JBLM sites.
CLEARANCE/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance in accordance with DoD regulations.
- Compliance with all JBLM and DoD cybersecurity and information assurance protocols is mandatory.
