We're looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our team! This position will focus on managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, has a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. The position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.
General Job Duties:
- Architect, design, mock-up, develop, document and configure control system programs and applications by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying automation engineering concepts. Apply standard and/or create unique algorithms and techniques to control flexible manufacturing systems employing PLC’s, HMI’s, SCADA’s, and Networks. Utilize network communications and/or hardwired interlocks to integrate control systems to the peer processes, OEM components and/or client MES/MOM applications
- Review mechanical processes and electrical designs for feasibility and standards, collaborate with client engineering design teams and external suppliers for functional specifications and control narratives
- Develop test programs to facilitate simulations. Participate in and/or perform control system simulation and testing prior to implementation. Review control system functionality and accuracy with the client
- Install control system software, applications and configurations to PLC’s, HMI’s, SCADA’s, and Networks
- Perform safety system verifications. Commission control system components and devices
- Validate integration to peer process and MES/MOM applications
- Dry test and functionally test processes
- Support and optimize processes during startup and ramp-up phases
- Work as part of a team or individually to design and develop controls systems for manufacturing processes
- The location of the position will be in Greenville, SC
- Position requires an average of 30%independent travel to customer locations
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET, ChemE or comparable). An equivalent combination of experience and training will also be considered
- 5+ years of relevant working experience, specifically with controls
- Requires good verbal and written communication skills to facilitate interactions and/or documentation with clients and project teams

- Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work in office or from home when needed
- Requires willingness to travel for project implementations (project implementation sites are typically within North America)
- Must be a US resident or currently authorized to work in the USA
Preferred Experience:
- Platforms: Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Inductive Ignition, GE Proficy, or OSI PI
- Industry/Process: food and beverage, aluminum container, process, brewing, packaging, or material handling
- Control system commissioning experience, ability to configure and/or verify functionality for VFD’s, servo’s, motor starters, valves, smart instrumentation, pumps, conveyors, processing and/or packaging equipment, etc.
- Process optimization experience, ability to tune and/or improve the process while utilizing and adjusting PLC programs, HMI’s, Alarms, Reports, and Trends
The target annual base compensation range for this position is $100,000-120,000, based upon relevant qualifications.
