About the Role:
Are you a database wizard with a knack for security and performance? Join our team as a Database Administrator (DBA) and help us shape the future of our data-driven business!
As a DBA, you will provide technical support for our database environment, overseeing the development and organization of databases, assessing and implementing new technologies, and offering insights on how database technology can drive business opportunities. This role places a strong emphasis on database authorization and security and will interact and communicate with many different business units.
What You’ll Do:
- Database Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain databases and applications to ensure the highest reliability and performance.
- Collaboration: Work with architecture, application development, and operations teams to create a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives.
- Tool Design: Provide and design tools to assist in managing the database environment.
- Capacity Planning: Develop models for capacity assessment and planning.
- Performance Assessment: Create methodologies for ongoing database performance assessment and problem identification.
- Application Development Support: Provide input during the development and enhancement of production applications, collaborating with technical support and business units.
- Audit Compliance: Create processes and documents for audit standards and work with internal and external auditors.
- Vendor Collaboration: Work with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies.
- Independent Project Management: Manage projects and assignments independently.
- Software Support: Support complex software-based systems and manage the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom or purchased software systems.
- Documentation: Produce documentation such as system requirements, designs, and plans as requested by management.
- Workgroup Participation: Participate in workgroup assignments and ensure on-time completion of tasks and projects.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered
- Required Skills/Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in IT
- At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft SQL
- Proficient in PowerShell and other scripting tools
- Understanding of, and experience with relational database environments
- Experience with database management workflow techniques
- Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
- Experience working with internal and external auditors
- Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Preferred Skills/Experience
- SQL server 2016 or above
- SQL server security, authorization, and auditing best practice
- SQL server upgrades and migrations
- SQL server AlwaysOn availability groups
- Create and troubleshoot complex SQL server jobs
- Write complex database queries, stored procedures and views
- Database performance tuning and maintenance
- Virtualization/Cloud/ SSAS/PAAS
- Azure/AWS/VMware
- Work with 3rd party database support vendors
