About The Opportunity
Hiring Range: $90,000 - $112,000
As an
Information Security Engineer, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance and support an enterprise grade security environment for Performant, subsidiaries and vendors. A primary focus of this role will be on driving efficiency in processes related to security that allow the company to focus on growth.
Key Responsibilities To Include
- Monitor and document compliance and security standards
- Design, implement and support information security solutions
- Perform security assessments and review of infrastructure and applications
- Implementation of new security-based technologies
- Direct support to the business and IT staff for systems security related issues
- Interface with members of the entire IT organization and business to manage security vulnerabilities
- Analyze security landscape and technologies to ensure data protection
- Review logs from applications, systems, networks and devices using technology toolsets
- Work as part of an incident security response team
- Work with IDS/IDP and firewall infrastructure
- Vulnerability scans and pen testing
- Develop and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures and implementation
- Review vendor security questionnaires and documentation to identify any security gaps in their security programs to minimize risks to Performant
- Conduct regular training programs related to phishing exercises, compliance trainings annual security awareness trainings
- Review and provide evidence in support of customer audits and company certifications to include HITRUST, SOX, PCI, SOC, CMMC, and CMMI
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Needed
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems, MS active directory and Red Hat Linux
- Understanding of security/computer incident response methodologies
- Strong technical writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork skills
- High level of work independence
- Strong requirements gathering, analysis and organization skills
- Strong desire to learn new skills and technologies
- Deep understanding of any of the following NIST 800-53, ARS, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC, SOX or other security related regulations
- Understanding of security auditing methodologies, including documentation and system/network auditing
- Secure email technologies mainly with O365
- Flexibility to handle any non-standard situations that may arise
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a remote setting
- Solution oriented with focus on innovative and proactive approaches while supporting internal and client issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (concise, decisive, direct, respectful, non-argumentative); ability to communicate at all levels within the organization both internal and external
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in professional setting in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams and clients
- Critical thinking, questioning, and problem-solving skills are required to be successful in the role
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective task management ability
- Ability to manage time and multiple tasks efficiently, while completing work within allocated time frames
Required And Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree computer science or in a related field is required. An equivalent level of competence obtained through experience, education and/or training may be considered.
- At least two (2) years of Information Security experience; three to five (3-5) years preferred
- CISSP or ability to obtain within next 12 months, required
- Experience working with IP networking, networking protocols and understanding of security related technologies including encryption, VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IDP, content filters and syslog correlation tools
- Experience in SIEM technologies
- Experience with firewalls and other networking technologies.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning using commercial and open-source tools

Requirements
