The Role
This is a full-time on-site role for a DevOps Architect in Houston, TX. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for at least 3 days a week. As outlined in Client's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods, depending on business needs.
The DevOps Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop solutions to streamline delivery, improve quality, and enhance flexibility. The role requires experience and proficiency with DevOps technologies, concepts, agile methodologies, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Consult with development teams on security risks in designs, make design recommenda\ons, and provide security release gates.
- Develop security policies and procedures, design security architecture, and help teams adopt policies and infrastructure to support those policies and implement security controls.
- Work with stakeholders across the organiza\on to iden\fy security risks and develop strategies to mi\gate those risks.
- Engage with mul\ple development teams to ensure adherence to secure development standards.
- Run threat modeling across cloud services and infrastructure and iden\fy the scope of pen tests
- Work with external vendors on security tools
- Research new security best prac\ces and vulnerabili\es in the industry and develop ac\on/adop\on plans around them.
- Design and implement security solu\ons that protect an organiza\on's informa\on assets.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Architect or related role
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- In-depth knowledge and exper\se in DevOps technologies, concepts, agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines
- Exper\se in building tools like Jenkins, GitHub Ac\ons, Azure DevOps, and comparable DevOps tools
- Exper\se in container-based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and other similar platforms
- Experience with Unix/Linux and scrip g languages, including Bash, Shell, or Python
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure and systems such as AWS and Azure
- Experience with managing large-scale infrastructure.
- Good understanding and prac\ce of security best prac\ces and tools
- Excellent knowledge of troubleshoo g and issue-resolu\on techniques
- Great communication skills, both oral and written, and keen on establishing relationship to influence possible outcomes.
- certification in security, such as the CISSP, CISM, or CISA, are a plus.
- Experience in tools like Onapsis and For\fy is a plus.
- Experience in the O&G industry and SAP is a plus.
- Cer\fica\ons from recognized ins u\ons, such as AWS Cer\fied DevOps Engineer, Microsof Cer\fied:
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Cer\fied Professional Cloud Architect, are a plus.
