iSpjhere is searching for a Director of Infrastructure and Security who will report to the Head of IT/CIO responsible for cybersecurity, data center operations, network administration, and system administration. This is the most senior role in the infrastructure and operations (I&O) function within IT, accountable for IT I&O throughout the organization. The head of I&O is responsible for the delivery of all IT infrastructure and related IT operations used to enable business capabilities and services across the enterprise.
The head of I&O brings experience, knowledge, and a future vision for transforming the I&O function, including its strategy, operating model, product and service offerings, and workforce, into a cloud-centric architecture. The role holder is a senior stakeholder in all relationships with externally sourced infrastructure and operations capabilities.
As a critical member of the senior IT leadership team, this role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy. It is responsible for ensuring I&O strategy is fully aligned and positioning I&O to deliver compelling business value.
Essential Duties / Functions
- Sets the infrastructure and security organization's mission, vision, and strategy to maximize the success of business and IT enterprise initiatives.
- Introduces innovative, differentiating infrastructure operations and security capabilities that enhance our competitive capabilities and employee productivity.
- Keeps track of trends and provides direction on what emerging technologies should be incorporated into I&O products and services to deliver overall IT strategy successfully.
- Builds successful stakeholder relationships with other IT and business-critical stakeholders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs.
- Responsible for ensuring security, integrity, and availability of business and operations systems.
- Continuously assesses the effectiveness of security controls based on analysis of reported security violations/breaches and implements modifications to enhance the efficacy.
- Collaborates with the senior Information Security architect to Develop Cybersecurity countermeasures and incident response protocol and ensures I&O contributes to, embraces, and applies the security strategy.
- Collaborate with IT counterparts to implement and support a Microsoft Azure cloud-based infrastructure.
- Develops and controls the annual I&O budget to ensure that it's consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise and is within plan. Creates a culture of continuous cost optimization.
- Defines, develops, and manages a comprehensive and integrated IT Service Management (ITSM) landscape based on best-practice processes, disciplines, and related toolsets.
- Operates a formal governance mechanism to establish and monitor adequate controls for the processes and functions performed by I&O teams. Supports periodic reviews by audit teams, compliance teams, and other risk-related tasks as required.
- To meet appropriate system and regulatory compliance, maintain information systems documentation, including security, risk assessments, disaster recovery, business continuity, a Control matrix, and checklists.
- Continuously evaluates the business value of I&O, including using metrics such as Key Performance Indicators, Outcome-Driven Metrics and Objectives, and Key Results.
- Improves IT resilience by executing strategies that improve reliability, tolerability, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Directs the development of an I&O sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
- Design and develop a solid and diverse I&O leadership team and a reporting structure for the function.
- Works collaboratively with direct reports to support their career progression, nurture their development and to help them realize their potential.
- Works with HR and the IT leadership team to develop and execute workforce plans that ensure I&O can supply skilled resources to meet demand.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position.
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Minimum experience required of the position.
- Minimum ten years of experience with diverse business and information technology experience.
- Minimum five years of experience working with public cloud technology.
- Five or more years of leadership responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting, and staffing
- Recent energy industry experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

- Proven track record leading direct reports, consultants and virtual teams to manage multiple concurrent projects, operations and budgets.
