DevSecOps Architect
The Role
This is a full-time on-site role for a DevOps Architect in Houston, TX. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for at least 3 days a week. As outlined in ImpactQA’s Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods, depending on business needs.
The DevOps Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop solutions to streamline delivery, improve quality, and enhance flexibility. The role requires experience and proficiency with DevOps technologies, concepts, agile methodologies, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Consult with development teams on security risks in designs, make design recommendations, and provide security release gates
- Develop security policies and procedures, design security architecture, and help teams adopt policies and infrastructure to support those policies and implement security controls
- Work with stakeholders across the organization to identify security risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
- Engage with multiple development teams to ensure adherence to secure development standards
- Run threat modeling across cloud services and infrastructure and identify the scope of pen tests
- Work with external vendors on security tools
- Research new security best practices and vulnerabilities in the industry and develop action/adoption plans around them
- Design and implement security solutions that protect an organization’s information assets
Qualifications
- 8+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Architect or related role
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in DevOps technologies, concepts, agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines
- Expertise in building tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and comparable DevOps tools
- Expertise in container-based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and other similar platforms
- Experience with Unix/Linux and scripting languages, including Bash, Shell, or Python
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure and systems such as AWS and Azure
- Experience with managing large-scale infrastructure
- Good understanding and practice of security best practices and tools
- Excellent knowledge of troubleshooting and issue-resolution techniques
- Great communication skills, both oral and written, and keen on establishing relationships to influence positive outcomes
- Certifications in security, such as the CISSP, CISM, or CISA, are a plus
- Experience in tools like Onapsis and Fortify is a plus
- Experience in the O&G industry and SAP is a plus
- Certifications from recognized institutions, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, are a plus
