The Lead Metadata Management Specialist will develop and implement comprehensive metadata management frameworks using Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) and Cloud Data Governance Catalog (CDGC). This role is essential for establishing metadata strategies, enhancing data cataloging, capturing data lineage, and fostering data discoverability and observability throughout the organization. The specialist will work closely with both technology and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with the organization’s data strategy, while driving the adoption of advanced metadata management and data governance practices.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute a metadata strategy, framework, and roadmap using IDMC and CDGC.
- Optimize CDGC platform functionality and build self-service, crowd-sourced capabilities.
- Capture and manage both technical and business metadata.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective metadata management and alignment with business needs.
- Drive platform adoption, business value, and continuous improvement of metadata practices.
Required Skills :
- 7+ years of experience in metadata management and data catalog platform optimization, with expertise in IDMC and CDGC preferred.
- Proficiency in data cataloging, data lineage, business glossaries, and metric glossaries.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks, data stewardship, and data quality management principles.
- Expertise in modern data storage solutions, including cloud data storage, data lakes/lakehouses, and data virtualization.
- Strong understanding of data management best practices in cloud environments and hybrid data architectures.
- Experience with self-service data catalog platforms and cross-functional team collaboration for platform implementation and optimization.
- Strong communication, change management, and leadership skills to drive enterprise-wide adoption of metadata practices.
- Ability to design and implement scalable metadata frameworks for large data environments.
- Knowledge of data observability tools and techniques to monitor data health and integrity.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to data governance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
