Summary
Works with VP of Finance, CEO and other members of the executive team to manage all legal aspects of the business to ensure maximum protection of the company’s legal rights and to maintain its operations within acceptable limits prescribed by law. Provides guidance, consultation and support to the company’s executives and management team on a comprehensive range of legal, compliance, and regulatory issues related to the company.
Duties And Responsibilities
Drafts, reviews, and negotiates customer and vendor contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
Works with sales team to ensure that customer contracts are completed in a timely manner to the satisfaction of all parties.
Provides legal counsel and guidance to the company’s, executives and management team on legal matters, including policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and laws pertaining to security, data protection, privacy, contracts, liability and insurance matters, and other laws and regulations.
Creates and maintains a document management and repository system for customer, vendor and other contracts and important legal documents.
Manages and maintains company’s compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Works with executive team to anticipate and identify legal issues and counsels company in order to develop legal strategies and solutions, often in situations of financial risk or significance, with limited time and information.
Drafts, reviews, and approves policies and procedures, regulations, terms and conditions, and other legal documents.
Researches legal issues and makes recommendations regarding business strategy, goals, and actions.
Manages relationships with company’s outside counsel to ensure company receives the best service at reasonable rates.
Represents or oversees the representation of the company’s interests in judicial and administrative hearings, and in negotiations with other entities.
Maintains professional growth and development through workshops, seminars, and professional affiliations to stay abreast of the latest developments and pertinent areas of the law.
Performs miscellaneous legal duties as suggested and assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
J.D. From an American Bar Association accredited law school.
At least 3-5 years of experience drafting, editing and negotiating software contracts.
Member in good standing of a State Bar.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to provide competent legal advice and counsel to the executives and management team on contracts, regulations and other legal matters.
Ability to conduct complex negotiations with one or more counterparties while maintaining a high level of professionalism and achieving the company’s goals
This is a remote position. We hire in any US state, but prefer the employee to live in EST or CST to meet business needs.
Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 annually
