Position: Chief of Staff, CTO
The Chief of Staff to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for driving the CTO’s agenda, priorities, and strategies. The roles will support the CTO in managing IT strategy and developing key initiatives to enhance the delivery of technology services to the organization. The position requires working closely with senior technology leadership across the organization to oversee day-to-day matters, troubleshoot issues, proactively identify new opportunities, and drive initiatives through to completion, in collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization.
The Chief of Staff position is a critical and trusted leadership role as the strategic right-hand person to the CTO. You will help drive strategic business planning, support, and direct change management throughout the organization, support and help drive enterprise-wide technology modernization initiatives while building and maintaining key relationships across the organization. The role incorporates a broad set of skills, including strategic vision and planning, multiple-project management, change management, and communication skills, and creativity to think and deliver out of the box.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Partner with the CTO on the day-to-day management of IT operations providing leverage to enable the CTO to focus more time with business units and strategic priorities
- Oversee strategic information technology initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership
- Plan and direct operational, leadership, and administrative activities for the CTO
- Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the CTO to facilitate efficient decision-making.
- Drive agenda, materials, and follow-up tracking for Operations and Technology Leadership Team meetings
- Act as a point of contact between CTO and other stakeholders, providing oversight and guidance to projects of high importance
- Ability to anticipate issues, recognize the root causes of problems, and apply creative problem solving
- Contribute to and potentially own key process improvement and strategic projects, including end-to-end diagnostic to recommendations for implementation
- Manage key Office of the CTO initiatives and projects for IT and keep the group focused on key activities and milestones necessary to meet objectives
- Work with other IT leadership team members and IT senior staff to develop and enforce key processes, policies, and procedures
- Implement the appropriate tools and measurement systems to drive the adoption of technology strategy
Position Requirements
- Brentwood, TN or Remote
- Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Preferred
- Experience interacting with senior-level management
- Strategic analytical capabilities and strong business and financial acumen
- 5+ years working with Information Technology teams managing technical projects and staff
- Broad business experience driving execution and adoption of key strategic programs across large teams
- Ability to think and act creatively, championing and promoting new ideas that contribute to the goals of the organization and the department
