Salary: $70,000 – $110,000
Travel: Approx. 15% (Travel to Mississippi 2–3 times/year)
Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Senior Systems Administrator on behalf of a trusted client in Southlake, TX. This is a key leadership-focused role where you'll manage a team of Windows System Engineers, drive infrastructure projects, and ensure the ongoing performance and security of IT systems.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of Windows System Engineers and act as the escalation point for Level 3 IT support
- Provide training, mentorship, and documentation for engineering staff
- Help define IT strategy, infrastructure architecture, and process improvements
- Manage and execute enterprise IT projects, including security implementations and infrastructure upgrades
- Ensure help desk operations are effective and SOPs are followed
- Coordinate team scheduling and after-hours support coverage
- Oversee recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of technical staff
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity to maintain hardened server images and compliance standards
- Monitor, audit, and optimize systems and performance across all environments
- Attend internal leadership meetings and contribute to IT strategic planning
- Document all technical procedures and project workflows
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 8+ years of systems administration experience with at least some team leadership or supervisory responsibility
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Office 365
- Solid knowledge of virtualization and backup technologies
- Comfortable working with Unix/Linux operating systems
- Experience with Spiceworks or similar help desk tools
- Microsoft Server/Engineer and/or VMware certification preferred
- Diploma from a college or vocational school, or equivalent work experience
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal transportation
- Willingness to travel up to 15% (Mississippi data center visits 2–3 times/year)
