The CHS Systems Administrator is a dynamic and results-driven role that is critical to implementing technology solutions in an educational environment. This individual will assist the Information Technology Manager in establishing, installing, configuring, and maintaining systems and workstations, network infrastructure, integrations, and security related technologies for the Central Office and accompanying Centers. This position plays a key part in optimizing and enhancing the CHS systems to ensure they are scalable, efficient and meet the needs of our rapidly growing and evolving organization. The Systems Administrator will provide leadership in training and guiding staff members with all technology related matters. In addition, this individual must be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve and enhance current systems. This strategic position is also responsible for reviewing and managing IT systems around support, project management, systems upgrades, assisting in coordinating contracts with third-party providers, and is expected to not just meet the standard, but set the standard for IT within the organization. The salary range for this position is $59,735 to $79,746 based on experience.
Responsibilities:
Systems and Application Support
- Serve as subject matter expert on CHS Systems and Applications
- Install configure, and test new hardware and software
- Implement and integrate operational and education software across CHS Central Office and CHS Centers
- Utilize MS Endpoint Manager and Intune to deploy and secure technologies across the CHS environment including monthly third-party patches
- Manage user access through Azure Active Directory and provide oversight for system access
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to hardware and software applications such as Windows OS, MS Office Suites, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Oversee upgrades of existing systems, and recommend upgrades for current or new systems
- Conduct data backups, and data restoration efforts, when the situation requires
Client Support
- Perform asset and inventory management
- Provision client technologies
- New Employee Onboarding training
- Support Center IT Specialists as an escalated support person
- Train educational and support staff members at CHS in how to use relevant systems
- Establish clear lines of communication for responsive technical support to CHS staff and children as needed
- Produce and distribute a monthly technology tips newsletter to CHS team members
Projects
- Assist with vendor relationships and ensuring vendors are meeting project objectives and SLAs
- Support the IT Manager with security, regulatory, and technology audits
- Assist the IT Manager in deploying strategic plans for the CHS IT support model
Network and Telecommunications Support
- Support a data network for sharing of information among multiple CHS Centers while following best practices in cybersecurity
- Manage infrastructure technology assets and activities (including personal devices) for the CHS Central Office and multiple CHS Centers through device management systems
- Maintain Central office network infrastructure and support network integrations at CHS Centers.
General Administrative and Supervision
- Training the future CHS Center Technology Specialists
- Develop and document procedures for new systems and software
- Work with the IT Manager to plan technology rollouts and budget renewals
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Bachelor's preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in networking, IT infrastructure, firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, etc.), and software support
- Knowledge of functional areas such as telecommunications, and classroom technology trends
- Proficiency in using technology, including MS Office Suite (including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Microsoft 365: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (preferred)
- Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Exceptional communication skills – written, verbal, and platform, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Flexible and quick learner, able to adapt to changing environment by identifying new approaches of working in an entrepreneurial environment
