Harvard FCU is seeking a strategic, service-focused Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the alignment of technology, operations, and data capabilities in support of the organization’s growth and member experience goals. This executive will have enterprise-level responsibility for Information Technology, Digital Banking, Deposit Operations, Card Services, Business Applications, and Data Analytics.
This role does not manage the day-to-day operations of these areas. Rather, the CIO provides strategic oversight, ensuring that these functions work in harmony to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and exceptional experiences for both members and employees. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for digital transformation, internal service excellence, and technology-enabled customer experience.
Reporting to the EVP, Chief Operating Officer, with a dotted-line to the President & CEO, the CIO serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team.

Position Description
- Strategic Alignment: Develop and execute a technology strategy that supports Harvard FCU’s vision and ensures seamless coordination across technology, digital, operational, and analytics functions.
- Leadership & Culture: Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and service—where internal teams receive the same care and attentiveness expected by members.
- Oversight & Strategic Direction: Provide strategic direction, development, support, and long-term planning for the teams responsible for: Digital Experience: Guide digital transformation initiatives and fintech partnerships to enhance the member experience and strengthen digital engagement.
- Technology Infrastructure & Security: Oversee cybersecurity, IT governance, infrastructure, hardware, and connectivity to ensure a secure, scalable, and resilient environment.
- Operational Efficiency: Align systems and platforms to improve processes, drive automation, and support outstanding internal service.
- Data & Analytics Enablement: Leverage data and AI tools to support smarter decision-making, personalized service, and proactive risk management.
- Risk, Compliance & Vendor Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, manage vendor relationships, and safeguard technology and data assets
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or four years of equivalent work experience.
- 10+ additional years of leadership experience in financial services technology, IT management, cybersecurity, digital banking, or operations.
Additional Qualifications And Skills
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record of leading IT strategy, AI implementation, cybersecurity, and digital transformation in financial services.
- Expertise in IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, data analytics, AI governance, and cybersecurity risk management.
- Experience negotiating and managing vendor contracts with core banking providers, fintech partners, and IT service firms.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (NCUA, FFIEC, GLBA, etc.) related to financial services technology.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to align technology with business goals.

Work Format Details
This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
