Summary Overview
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing technical support on laptops, desktops, applications and will provide an atmosphere of ownership of customer issues. The incumbent will maintain servers including windows servers, backup server, exchange server, and web server. The Systems Administrator will be in charge of maintaining network gear.
Essential Functions
Essential Job functions: Duties ___1____ through ___12____are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed in this job. All other job duties are secondary functions. [TBD]
- Maintains Network gear to include routers, switches firewall, VPN, WIFI, windows servers, email servers, backup servers and web servers.
- Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Writes and maintains systems infrastructure, procedures, maintains disaster recovery documentation and process documentation.
- Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about software, hardware, systems and infrastructure.
- Be on call in case of an emergency and if needed should show up at the agency nights and/or weekend until the emergency issue is resolved.
- Provides live and on-call support to end-users both on-site and off-site.
- Works closely with other IT staff members to identify and resolve issues and report potential problems to the IT Manager.
- Logs, updates and completes trouble tickets. Also adheres to and enforces all IT related change controls.
- Provide on-call support as required by management.
- Develop and maintain network, system, application and disaster recovery documentation.
- Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktops, laptops and Windows Servers. Also tests and releases software updates/patches for these systems.
- Regular evaluations of IT infrastructure, in order to consult with the IT team to determine hardware and software requirements.
- Assists in monitoring license compliance.
- Runs SAMS reports and helps troubleshooting SAMS errors.
- Provides BSHC new employee IT on-boarding trainings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, filing cabinets.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
TRAVEL
This position requires minimal travel.
Required/Preferred Education And Experience
- Experience with various server and client operating systems and network protocols.
- Experience with the Microsoft 365 platform, including Azure, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams and other virtual meeting platforms.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory Forests, Domains, Trusts, and Sites & Services, Group Policy Configuration and Deployment, DNS and DHCP.
- Proficient in server backup technologies and processes in addition to experience managing redundant systems
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud services.
- Understanding cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Experience with VOIP systems.
- Experience with network troubleshooting.
- Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server and IIS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Exposure to AI and related technologies.
