Responsibilities
Kforce is working with a company in search of a Systems Administrator for a 6-month contract role in Canonsburg, PA. Summary: The Systems Administrator contractor provides expertise to IT and the business units in a specialized subject matter field. This role will work independently with moderate supervision and participate as a technology resource in larger projects. This is a 6-month contract role based in Canonsburg, PA, with a hybrid work arrangement. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Systems Administrator will perform root-cause analysis, and analyze network, hardware, and software issues with infrastructure and client systems teams
- Rack and stack servers and assist with basic networking functions as needed
- As a Systems Administrator, you will participate in Data Center support in the event of system outages or failures
- Provide documentation on installation and configuration changes
Requirements
- Experience/knowledge of basic network concepts
- Experience/knowledge in the following: Unix, Windows, Networking, Virtualization, Cloud, or Security
- Experience/knowledge with cloud technologies on Azure and AWS (preferred but not required)
- Experience/knowledge with Horizon View (VDI) and Citrix XenApp
- Experience/knowledge with Dell hardware and EMC storage
- Understanding of operating system concepts
- Understanding of distributed computing environment concepts
- Ability to identify and remedy hardware and software failures
- Ability to conceptualize and implement process and design improvements
Preferred
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds) and incident management
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices
- Core competencies for this position include effective time management, problem-solving, customer focus, a drive for results, the ability to communicate effectively, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills
- Strong documentation skills for creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Heavy lifting is necessary as infrastructure components can weigh up to 50 lbs.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
