Tanium is growing and is searching for a dynamic IT Systems Sr. Business Analyst that will play a pivotal role in leading strategic projects that support the company’s objectives. The Sr. Business Analyst will leverage their strong analytical skills and experience with IT workflows and systems to partner with our business stakeholders and deliver insightful analysis and recommendations to them. It will be critical to establish a trusted partnership and build a deep understanding of our stakeholder’s processes and requirements to expose gaps and inefficiencies and drive automation and optimization. Responsibilities will include the elicitation, analysis and documentation of business requirements, the creation and maintenance of process flow diagrams, the creation and organization of user stories that encapsulate project deliverables and involvement in solution design. Furthermore, the Sr. Business Analyst will promote a culture of high visibility and transparency to build and maintain trust with our stakeholders. This includes maintaining clear and consistent communication with our stakeholders to ensure clear expectations and providing updates on the status of their projects.
The right candidate will have a deep understanding of common IT technologies such as the Microsoft technology stack and processes such as identity management. Also desired is familiarity with Financial, Procurement, GTM and Human Resources business processes and supporting technologies. Being able to confidently interface and present appropriately abstracted data to all levels of an enterprise organization is paramount to the overall success of this role. A strong technical and analytical mindset, excellent communication skills and a proven track record of delivering impactful business solutions is a must. The IT Systems Sr. Business Analyst will report to the Manager, Corporate Systems and work closely with all areas of our G&A functions.
This is a hybrid position, which will require in person attendance several days each week in one of the following locations: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Develop and present detailed business cases and project proposals to support decision-making processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and monitor solutions that enhance business performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including process maps, workflow diagrams, and project reports.
- Ability to write comprehensive use cases/test cases and help guide stakeholders through user acceptance testing.
- Create and present current, transition, and future state architectural diagrams to internal and external stakeholders.
- Some light project management.
We’re looking for someone with
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in related field
- 5+ years of experience with common IT technologies
- Understanding of SOX and ITGC compliance
- Understanding of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK)
- Exceptional documentation skills with an emphasis on business requirements and process flows.
- Expertise in translating business needs to technical work across critical business processes (e.g., Identity Management, data integration, security protocols) with an emphasis on the IT technology stack.
- Expertise in executing the strategy, planning, development, and deployment of technical solutions across enterprise technology solutions.
- Experience with common all enterprise technologies (Microsoft, NetSuite, Concur, Coupa, SuccessFactors, Salesforce, etc.).
- Experience with data mapping and integration.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong business acumen.
- Understanding of common SDLC frameworks (preferred)
- Utilize data analytics tools to generate actionable insights and support data-driven decision making (preferred)
- Experience with Agile methodologies (preferred)
- Experience with Jira (preferred)
- A CCBA or CBAP certification is a plus

What You’ll Get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 - $280,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
