The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated
Software DevOps Engineer Co-op to join our Software Engineering team from July to December 2025. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building tools to automate software builds, streamline testing pipelines, and help reduce friction between development and deployment. You'll be working closely with a small 6-7 person collaborative team and have the opportunity to make a real impact on a mission-critical product.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated build and deployment pipelines for a C++/QML codebase
- Improve and expand automated testing infrastructure, including integration and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Work with tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Qt Creator, Jira, and Python—and explore alternatives where appropriate
- Support the team in implementing software best practices with awareness of cybersecurity and compliance requirements
- Propose and implement improvements to the build/test workflow, balancing robustness with developer speed
- Communicate openly and frequently with team members, sharing progress, roadblocks, and ideas
- Work on-site 4–5 days per week for hands-on access to test hardware and team collaboration
Who you are
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proficient in object-oriented programming
- Interested in DevOps, build systems, automation, and continuous integration
- Curious, organized, and eager to take initiative and see projects through
- Comfortable working in a Linux development environment
- Excellent communicator and team player
