Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience is required. Six years of technical experience may be substituted for a technical BS Degree or four years of applicable technical experience and an applicable Associate’s Degree in lieu of BS degree.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

CERTIFICATIONS: DoD IA Technical (IAT) Level 2 certification within 6 months of employment based on position responsibilities.

Specific Work Experience:
-
Experience installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise networking hardware.
-
Demonstrated ability to perform simple hardware component troubleshooting for networking platforms such as line cards, small form-factor pluggable (SFP) modules, etc.
-
Must be able to independently establish and troubleshoot end-user client connections and network cross connects for copper and fiber optic ethernet drops.
-
Working knowledge of standard client-facing network-based services such as DHCP, DNS, and NTP.
-
Deep understanding of general IP routing theory, including static routing and dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
-
Demonstrated understanding of Ethernet switching concepts including protocols such as STP, VLANs, and LACP, as well as port security concepts such as 802.1X.
-
Ability troubleshoot and securely configure ACLs and/or firewall rulesets.
-
Must be able to effectively communicate orally and possess technical writing skills.
-
Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and lead/direct the work of others.
-
Ability to perform job duties independently and with minimal supervision.

Experience working with an IPAM or ground truth solution such as NetBox.

Clear understanding of IPv4 and IPv6, their differences, and how to manage a dual stack network.

Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise high-availability features such as HSRP, port channel groups (LACP/EtherChannel), virtual port channels (vPCs), gratuitous ARPs, etc.
-
Experience with network services, common network protocols, and the ability to install and configure network equipment to include software, VPNs, routers, switches, and other physical hardware.
-
Experience with Microsoft Office products including Visio.
-
Understanding of campus LAN and WAN technologies and concepts.
-
Understanding of development test and evaluation processes, specifically the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle for program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force C2 test methodologies including DODI 5000.89_DAFI 99-103.

Knowledgeable with the system development lifecycle, architecture, configuration, and security methods.
-
Knowledge of IT systems analyses and application software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate emerging technologies in a development environment.
