Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring reliable operations, stability, and integrity of the telecommunications network including voice, data, and wireless network services, as well as supporting the operations of all network-related services.
Location: Remote but
MUST be local to one of the following areas:
- Washington, D.C.
- Atlanta, GA
- Phoenix, AZ
- Louisville, KY
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00
Shift: Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain networking equipment such as Cisco/Meraki switches, routers, Cradlepoints, and UPSs.
- Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root causes and provide technical support when needed.
- Diagnose problems with network equipment and performs equipment repair or upgrades when appropriate.
- Monitor network performance utilizing a network monitoring system such as SolarWinds Orion.
- Create and maintain network documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- 3-5 years of networking experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of Cisco/Meraki experience.
- Thorough understanding of networking concepts.
- Thorough understanding of layer 2 and 3 network switches, preferably Cisco/Meraki
- An intermediate understanding of subnets, routing.
- Knowledge of basic Cat5/6 and fiber cable installation.
- A high level of customer service.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to describe in detail the steps and approach taken to complete your tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and desire to work as a member of a team and as a team of one.
Organizational Relationship
Consults and coordinates with the Sr. Manager of the Network Operation Center.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. The employee will operate various types of office equipment.
Lift/Carry 75 lbs.
Minimum Requirements
3-5 years of networking experience, or a combination of education and experience. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
