Under general direction, the Endpoint - Windows Systems Administrator - Senior is responsible for activities related to system administration. This role assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work. They ensure the long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Specific duties include the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. They implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. The Endpoint - Windows Systems Administrator - Senior ensures enterprise infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, and hyper-converged infrastructures, are functional and supports systems lifecycle management for all equipment, including planning, implementation, maintenance, upgrades, consolidation, and decommissioning of enterprise hardware and software. They ensure that Change Management and Server Testing are performed and tracked on all systems in accordance with ITIL standards and the ARL Configuration and Change Management Plan. They install, configure, document, test, deploy, manage, and maintain Hyper Converged server clusters, ensuring the availability of all servers and services contained within the clusters. They ensure all systems and data are backed up daily following industry best practices and perform routine maintenance tasks on a regular basis to ensure enterprise resources continue to function reliably. They collect monitoring and performance data for continuous improvement programs and propose methods and technologies to streamline and automate notification messages. They maintain the Government-approved IT system Critical Asset List and operate and maintain system and application monitoring tools, ensuring integration with the ARL ServiceNow platform. Additionally, they provide and manage desktop/laptop/tablet image management, auto-discovery, and electronic software distribution tools and perform all system administration for end-user Windows systems.
