DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Systems/Network Engineer. This position is responsible for managing access requests, the implementation and maintenance within a Cisco Nexus environment; Switching and Routing, F5 Load-Balancing; Domain Name System (DNS)/Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)/IP Address Management (IPAM) in Info-Blox, and Azure Networking. This position may require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain, monitor and update Cisco Network Route/Switch Environment, add/remove routes, create DNS records/zones, and DHCP scopes. Create F5 Virtual Servers. Create/update Microsoft Azure VNets, Subnets, Load-Balancers.
- Create basic process documentation for internal use and take part in meetings to try and streamline the processes. Troubleshoot issues within the F5 Load-Balancer/DNS/DHCP/IPAM/Cisco Nexus, Microsoft Azure environment.
- Responds promptly to customer needs and takes a customer-centric approach to problem solving. Conducts daily device logs analysis, identifies and characterizes incidents, generates incident reports, and investigates suspicious network activity.
- Reviews configuration change proposals for compliance to established standards, guidelines and policies. Provide support to Tier 2 Techs, Developers or Production support with issue resolution.
- Performs system analysis, designs, constructs and tests infrastructure. Identifies opportunities and implements solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Pre-Employment Requirements
- If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
- Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
- All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of extensive experience in systems engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Applicants for this position will be required to apply for and show proof of receipt of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card.

Retirement
State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
