We are seeking an experienced
Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems. You will collaborate closely with both development and infrastructure teams to design and implement solutions that enhance system reliability and operational efficiency. Additionally, you will play a key role in establishing and expanding the SRE discipline within our organization.
The Site Reliability Engineer will:
- Assist in the establishment and development of the SRE function, including defining processes, standards, and best practices.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and resiliency.
- Develop and maintain automation tools to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with development & Infrastructure teams to design and implement solutions that enhance system reliability.
- Primary resource for addressing difficult and complex problems, owning and driving them to completion while applying lessons learned across all enterprise services.
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
- Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability through proactive measures.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure adherence to current Architecture Standards.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in Infrastructure as Code tools, Site Reliability Engineering/DevOps, Application Development, Technology Operations, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure best practices.
- Strong background in network architecture, including experience with load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills.
- Working knowledge of banking regulations, operational best practices, and compliance activities as they relate to the technology domain.
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator) preferred.
Location:
This position can be located 100% remote within the United States or will be a hybrid work schedule (3/4 days a week in office) if you are within 50 miles of the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus is the company’s primary technology and operations center. This modern and environmentally friendly technology center enables Zions to compete for the best technology talent in the state while providing team members with an exceptional work environment with features such as:

Pay Range: $110,000 – $175,000 (Based upon location and relatable skills/experience)
