Duties
- Engineer, install, maintain, configure and optimize Microsoft server operating systems.
- Manage virtualized environments.
- Provision and manage virtual machines. Manage and configure VDI environments.
- Configure and maintain network services such as DNS ad DHCP
- Knowledge in creating, administering, and troubleshooting Group Policies (GPOs).
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Work with internal and external IT teams to coordinate changes, implementations, and maintenances for network and security configurations
- Support the administration of Microsoft SQL databases.
- Develop and implement security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cyber threats
- Apply STIGs to IT systems and document results. Review STIG checklists developed by others for accuracy and completeness.
- Develop RMF security policy and procedures documents.
- Proven experience with a deep understanding of VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi).
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, storage, and networking concepts in virtualized environments.
- Experience with designing and implementing Vmware virtual infrastructure solutions, including scalability and high availability considerations.
- Experience with standing up ESXi hosts, various versions, AD integrations, time, and DNS services.
- Experience in the administration of Microsoft Active Directory (create user accounts, manage groups/permissions/access)
- Experience in the administration of Microsoft databases (log shipping, event management, cluster management)

Qualifications
- Must possess Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Requires 8 to 10 years' experience with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years' experience with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years' experience with PhD.
- VMware certifications (such as VCP, VCAP, VCIX) are highly desirable.
- MCSE certification or other Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.
- Cisco certifications are highly desirable.
- 8140/8570 IAT Level III is required for this position.
- Experience with system administration and network administration
- Experience with Linux is desirable.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of network and host hardening.
- Knowledge of Splunk is desirable but not required
- Knowledge of Trellix and Tenable security and vulnerability products are desirable but not required.
