Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join their team! This critical role involves developing and maintaining secure containerized environments, automating infrastructure tasks, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our client's AI and application deployments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in containerization, Kubernetes, DevSecOps practices, and a deep understanding of secure coding and infrastructure management.
- Design, develop, and maintain secure container images for various applications, including administrative functions and AI models
- Create and deploy containerized applications using Chainguard hardened images, such as a Flask Python API on top of an LLM, ensuring functionality in air-gapped environments
- Automate infrastructure tasks using Kubernetes, including setting up various automation
- Implement best practices for code quality, security, and performance optimization in containerized environments
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a focus on security and data privacy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate secure and efficient solutions into existing systems
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in DevSecOps, containerization, and Kubernetes
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, with a strong focus on containerization and Kubernetes
- Proven experience in creating and managing secure container images, including automation tasks and AI models
- Strong expertise in using Chainguard hardened images and deploying applications in air-gapped environments
- Expertise with Kubernetes, including setting up and managing cron jobs and stateful sets
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices and secure coding principles
- Experience with Python development, particularly in building and deploying Flask APIs
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Education/Certification Requirements
Preferred Requirements
- Relevant certifications in DevSecOps, containerization, or related fields are a plus
- Local to Washington D.C. is preferred
- Experience working within a start-up environment is highly preferred
Clearance Requirements
- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Must be able to obtain a US Government Secret level clearance once starting the position.
