What You Will Spark at Amplify:
We are seeking a highly motivated Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who will report to the CEO and be responsible for managing the technical operations of Amplified Cell Technologies. This strategic role will lead the ACT board Technical Committee and will focus on technology and supplier localization. The CTO will also lead the R&D function and next generation product innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a world-class technical team by attracting, mentoring, and retaining top talent in battery technology, materials science, and related areas.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to maintain the company’s technology leadership position.
- Develop and execute R&D roadmaps for advancing the core battery technology based on industry and market feedback.
- Effectively collaborate with multiple teams including Finance, HR, etc. to support team growth, and ensure alignment between R&D, business goals, and customer requirements.
- Engage with investors, partners, suppliers and customers to clearly and efficiently communicate technical strategy, product roadmaps, and value of the technical solutions under development.
- Leads customer risk evaluation which includes identifying root cause analysis for customer concerns and failures.
- Processes variation risk analysis which may require coordination with outside expertise; non-conforming cell evaluation (B grade).
- Validating new suppliers, localization and supplier changes (new lines, new sites, coordinating with outside expertise).
- Responsible for knowledge transfer - LMFP chemistry, Electrolyte formulation, Particle Size Analysis, Safety test profile (abuse testing), Performance test profile (energy density, cycle life) and Formation recipe/profile.
- Lead validation processes and communication regarding testing criteria and coordination, customer communication, continuous improvement validation and establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives.
